Nokia has filed a patent with the US patents office for a phone that can work continuously without requiring to be plugged in for a recharge. The phone will convert energy from the owner’s motion to charge itself.

The final versions of both Opera Mini 5 and Opera Mobile 10 have just been released. One after the other diverse versions of the free web browser have been showing up so that now there are dedicated versions for almost all platforms and most of the phones out there are compatible with either the Opera Mini 5 or the Opera Mobile 10.

Symbian^3 demoed, promises to deliver what users expect

Symbian^3 is due this year, in fact we’ve heard that S^3 devices should arrive in Q3, but we hadn’t seen a live demo of it. One just hit the Internet – it runs on a laptop rather than a phone but still, the UI is manipulated in real time in front of a live audience.
Touch-driven Nokia C6 strikes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard

Nokia C6 will be the third side-slider in the S60 5th edition family and according to the new naming convention, adopted by the Finnish company it shouldn’t be much pricier than the Nokia C5 (135 euro before taxes). The Nokia C6 only has 256 MB of internal memory (compare to 32 GB in Nokia N97 and 8GB in N97 mini) and seems to drop the steel frame in favor of an all-plastic body.

First Snapdragon-powered Nokia phone in the works

It is probably an understatement that Nokia and Qualcomm have buried the hatchet. Kissed and made up is more like it. In a recent interview Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs reveals Nokia have a Snapdragon-powered Symbian smartphone in the pipeline. Due by the end of the year.
Microsoft’s own Windows Phone 7 device will be made by Asus?

Windows Mobile is reborn. We all met the new Windows Phone 7 and by the end of the year we’ll meet the first smartphones based on it. Reportedly, Microsoft will launch their own phone in early 2011 as well. And it will be made by Asus.

Nokia and Intel combine Maemo and Moblin into MeeGo

Now, how about that – Nokia and Intel shook hands to merge their mobile Linux projects into one. And along came MeeGo. The silly name aside, MeeGo is the blend of Nokia’s Maemo, used on the Nokia N900 and a few others, and Intel’s Moblin, which powers MIDs based on the Moorestown platform.
Microsoft announces the all new Windows Phone 7 Series platform

Well, the wait is over. Microsoft finally let the cat out of the bag and Windows Mobile 7 (or Windows Phone 7 Series) as MS calls it, is now official. The first phones should start selling by this year’s holiday season.
Microsoft just announced their next mobile OS installment here at the MWC 2010. Meet the new Windows Phone 7 designed for “Life in Motion”. Though called that way, the new Windows Phone is not really a phone. It’s a new mobile OS. The best about it is that it breaks off with its roots and goes with completely different approach.
HTC Legend, HTC Desire and HTC HD Mini ready to roll

Now the HTC Legend and the HTC Bravo are hardly a secret – they’ve been around our rumored section long enough. Today’s surprise however is the HTC Touch HD Mini (yet another Mini version?)
